Our Story

At Christina we specialize in clothing and accessories made of the highest quality fabrics and materials. Our flagship store opened in 1989 at the The Oberoi Hotel in Mumbai and over the last 34 years we have expanded in locations across India including Delhi, Gurgaon, Pune, Chennai and Bangalore. With the launch of our website we are bringing our much loved brand to customers across and outside India.

Initially Christina started with accessories that combined superior quality leather with beautiful silks. These signature items were wallets, handbags and scarves. Within a year our first silk shirts were introduced to match the accessories. The incredible success of the garments gave us the confidence to expand the brand. Today we have a large collection of clothing and accessories and while we retain our original pieces and remain consistent in our dedication to quality craftsmanship and tailoring we introduce new pieces each season and strive to create and innovate in our design aesthetic.

Our fabrics are sourced from the most talented weavers across the country and prints are developed in collaboration with artisan printers using wooden block print methods which date generations, combined with modern digital printing. We pride ourselves on bringing in fresh designs while maintaining a sense of tradition and adhering to quality.

Christina was founded as a close and fortuitous partnership between Rutty Birdy, her close friend the late Joujou Verma whose faith and confidence encouraged her to take the first step and Neelam Khanna who owned the premises which then become our flagship store at the Oberoi. In the path to expansion Rutty's two daughters Camellia and Karin were brought into the business and helped create a brand that served clients across the spectrum, elegant and refined but also youthful and modern. In 2011 Rutty, Camellia and Karin bought over the partnership making Christina the family owned business that it is today. We have grown enormously as a business but treat our clientele like they are part of that family.
